Getting Ready for a Big Trip: Nails, Packing, and Relaxation
Preparing for a big trip can be overwhelming, but taking care of yourself along the way can make the process much more enjoyable. In this blog post, I'll share some of my recent experiences getting ready for a nine-month trip, including getting my nails done, packing everything I'll need, watching book reviews on YouTube, and getting a massage to relieve tension in my shoulders.
First up: getting my nails done. While this might seem like a small thing, taking the time to indulge in a little self-care can go a long way in boosting your mood and confidence. I opted for a classic nude with some blue swirls and the evil eye for a little protection, which will look polished and put-together throughout my travels. Plus, it's always nice to have pretty nails in vacation photos!
Next on my list was packing. Packing for a long trip can be a daunting task, but I found that breaking it down into smaller steps made it more manageable. I started by making a list of everything I thought I'd need, then went through my closet and picked out items that would be comfortable and versatile. I also made sure to pack a few sentimental items and some home comforts such as my own pillows and bed sets, to help me feel connected to home while I'm away.
In between packing, I took breaks to watch book reviews on YouTube. As an avid reader, I wanted to make sure I had plenty of good books to add to my never ending TBR pile. Watching book reviews helped me discover new titles to add to my reading list, and I'm excited to dive into some new books.
Finally, I am treating myself to a massage tonight to relieve tension in my shoulders. With so much to do before leaving, I found myself getting stressed and anxious. Taking an hour to relax and unwind is just what I need to feel refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of my to-do list.
Overall, getting ready for a big trip can be a lot of work, but it's important to take care of yourself along the way. Whether it's getting your nails done, packing mindfully, or taking a break to watch a few book reviews, don't forget to prioritize your own well-being. Happy travels!
